Chichibunomiya Memorial Park in Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is a park developed and opened to the public on the site of the former villa of Prince Chichibu Yasuhito and Princess Setsuko. Donated by the Chichibu Imperial Family to Gotemba City in 1995, it opened in 2003. The extensive grounds include the main house, the Mitsuemine Kiln building, and a new building, all of which are open for viewing. The main house was purchased by the Imperial family in 1941 and used as their "Gotemba Villa." From its windows, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Fuji. The Mitsuemine Kiln building, where Prince Chichibu pursued his passion for pottery, is also preserved, offering a glimpse into the past. Well-maintained walking paths wind through the lush gardens, providing a tranquil space for a leisurely stroll. The gardens are ablaze with seasonal flowers, creating a serene atmosphere. Chichibunomiya Memorial Park is a highly recommended sightseeing spot where you can immerse yourself in history while enjoying nature.
