Nishizawa Valley is a valley located in Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture, within the Chichibu Tama Kai National Park.
Formed by a clear stream eroding huge granite rocks, the valley is a natural work of art. The stream flowing through the primeval forest creates numerous waterfalls, filled with mystical charm.
Featuring the renowned Shichitsukama Godan Falls, selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls, as well as the Mie no Taki, Ryujin no Taki, Koito no Taki, and Teisen no Taki waterfalls, the valley's beauty is truly awe-inspiring.
A walking path has been created within the valley, allowing visitors to enjoy the seasonal changes. The valley is especially popular in May, when the rhododendrons are in bloom, and in autumn, during the fall foliage season.
Nishizawa Valley has been certified as a Forest Therapy Base due to its proven relaxing effects of forest bathing, and it has also been selected as one of the "Heisei's Top 100 Water Sources," "Top 100 Forests for Forest Bathing," and "Top 100 Water Source Forests."
Nishizawa Valley is loved by many tourists for its abundant nature and beautiful scenery. It's also recommended for hiking and trekking.
