Negishi Forest Park, located in the heart of Yokohama, is a lush green oasis that allows you to forget the hustle and bustle of the city. In spring, various cherry blossom varieties, such as Someiyoshino and Yamazakura, paint the park in shades of pink. In autumn, the vibrant colors of Iroha momiji (Japanese maple) and other maple trees turn the park into a spectacle of red and yellow.
Within the park, you'll find historic buildings such as the Old Yokohama Customs and the Yokohama Archives of History, allowing you to enjoy both history and nature. The Old Yokohama Customs, a brick building from the Meiji era, is now open to the public as a museum. The Yokohama Archives of History is a museum showcasing the history and culture of Yokohama's opening to the world, displaying precious historical documents.
The park also boasts an observation deck offering panoramic views of Yokohama Port and Minato Mirai. From the observation deck, you can see iconic Yokohama landmarks like the Yokohama Bay Bridge and the Yokohama Landmark Tower. On a clear day, you might even catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji in the distance.
