Sumida Aquarium is an aquarium like a 'park' located in Tokyo Skytree Town. In the 'Ogasawara Tank,' which recreates the ocean of the Ogasawara Islands, a World Natural Heritage Site, you can see approximately 450 creatures such as sand tiger sharks and rays swimming leisurely. In one of the largest indoor open pool tanks in Japan, holding approximately 350 tons of water, you can observe Magellanic penguins actively moving around. In the 'Jellyfish Area,' which exhibits approximately 700 jellyfish of 14 species, you can view moon jellyfish up close in the 'Big Schale,' a 7-meter diameter petri dish-shaped tank. In the 'Edo-rium' goldfish exhibit zone themed around Edo, you can enjoy watching approximately 1,000 goldfish of about 20 varieties swimming gracefully. In addition, there is an 'Aqua Base' where you can observe breeding operations up close, and various experience programs are also available.
