It serves as the gateway to the Suigo-Tsukuba Quasi-National Park and is a beloved tourist and recreation facility that makes the most of its water and greenery. The vast 8-hectare park features islands, bridges, and water surfaces, with irises, Japanese irises, lotus flowers, wisteria, and poplars planted throughout. The "Suigo Sawara Ayame Festival," held from late May to late June, is a major event where 1.5 million Japanese irises of 400 varieties reach their peak bloom, coloring the park.
