Parking is available for a fee. Temporary parking may be set up during peak times. Please be aware of traffic restrictions during the blooming season. Pets are allowed in the park, but are prohibited from entering the Shibazakura Hill.
Hitsujiyama Park is a park blessed with abundant nature, located in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture. Situated on the Hitsujiyama Hill, a ridge extending north from Mount Buzo, it offers stunning views of Chichibu city to the west and Mount Buzo to the south. Especially famous is the 'Shibazakura Hill', which is in full bloom from early April to early May. Approximately 400,000 shibazakura plants create a breathtaking spectacle of pink and white, covering the entire hillside. The slope's design is inspired by the juban (under-kimono) patterns of the hayashi-kata (musician) on the floats of the Chichibu Night Festival. It's such a popular spot that extra trains run on the Chichibu Railway and Seibu Railway during the blooming season.
Beyond shibazakura, spring brings a plethora of cherry blossoms, including Someiyoshino and yae-zakura, adding to the springtime atmosphere. Autumn offers beautiful autumn foliage, signaling the arrival of fall.
The park features various facilities such as an athletic field, tennis courts, and an iris field. There's also the 'Yamato Art Museum', showcasing works by Shiko Munakata, and the 'Mount Buzo Museum', housing materials related to Mount Buzo.
Within the park is a 'Petting Farm' home to many sheep. The opportunity to interact with the sheep is a popular experience, particularly with families.
