The Italy Embassy Villa Memorial Park is one of many embassy villas built on the shores of Lake Chuzenji during the Meiji era. Built in 1928, this villa served as a summer retreat for the Italian ambassador and their family.
The park contains two buildings: the main residence and a secondary residence. The main residence features a living room, terrace, bedrooms, and displays period furniture and furnishings. The secondary residence has been developed into the International Summer Resort History Museum, showcasing the history of the area.
From the terrace of the main residence, you can enjoy magnificent views of Lake Chuzenji, Mount Nikko Shirane, Mount Hangetsu, and Hachijo-dejima. The park also features walking paths, bridges, and a pier, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the rich natural beauty of the lakeshore.
The Italy Embassy Villa Memorial Park is a captivating tourist spot where you can experience the beautiful scenery of Lake Chuzenji and its history. Imagine the elegant life of the ambassadors of the past while enjoying a stroll along the lakeshore.
