Rokpo-zawa Bridge is a 320-meter-long arch bridge located on the Kirifuri Kogen Road in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture. Situated at an elevation of 1434 meters, it's known as a spectacular viewpoint offering panoramic views of the surrounding natural beauty. The autumn foliage season is particularly stunning, with the vibrant reds and yellows of the foliage contrasting beautifully with the bridge, attracting many visitors. From the bridge, you can see the Kuriyama Dam and, on a clear day, even Mount Tsukuba in the distance. If you wake up early, you might even catch a sunrise over the Kanto Plain. Kirifuri Kogen is also known for its frequent mist, creating a mystical and enchanting atmosphere. When visiting Rokpo-zawa Bridge, be sure to explore the surrounding nature. Many natural attractions surround Rokpo-zawa Bridge, including Kirifuri Kogen and Osasa Farm. Kirifuri Kogen is a popular tourist destination offering beautiful scenery throughout the year; cherry blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in summer, and the vibrant colors of autumn. At Osasa Farm, you can see grazing cows and sheep and enjoy fresh dairy products. When visiting Rokpo-zawa Bridge, especially during peak season, we recommend using the parking lot located a short distance before the bridge. Also, be aware of potential icy road conditions during winter.
