Access: It's about a 15-minute walk from Nakanoe Station on the JR Senseki Line, or you can take the Miyako Bus "Sendai Uminomori Aquarium Line" from Nakanoe Station. From Sendai Airport, take the [Access Line] for about 25 minutes to JR Sendai Station. From Sendai Station, take the JR Senseki Line to Nakanoe Station (approximately 18 minutes), then it's about a 15-minute walk, or you can take the Miyako Bus "Sendai Uminomori Aquarium Line" from Nakanoe Station. Overview

Sendai Uminomori Aquarium, a privately owned aquarium in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, opened on July 1, 2015. It succeeded the Marinpia Matsushima Aquarium in Matsushima Town, and was jointly funded by Mitsui & Co., Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, and others. The concept is "Connecting the sea and people through moving experiences." Experience the wonder of the ocean from various perspectives, with a large tank recreating the abundant nature of the Sanriku coast and exhibits showcasing unique creatures from around the globe. The dolphin and sea lion show pool, one of the largest in Tohoku, provides thrilling performances. Five species of penguins also call the aquarium home, delighting visitors with their charming antics. With a diverse range of marine life, including deep-sea fish and coral reef inhabitants, there's something for everyone.
