Aomori Bay Bridge

Overview

Aomori Bay Bridge is a bridge located in Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture. Completed in 1994, its primary purpose was to alleviate congestion in Aomori Port's cargo transportation. Stretching 1,219 meters, it's the longest bridge in the city and the second longest in Aomori Prefecture, after Hachinohe Ohashi. The bridge boasts a striking design, with a total construction cost of approximately 27 billion yen. High-strength concrete is used for the main towers, and the shape of the letter "A" (for Aomori) is subtly incorporated into the piers, cables, and other components. Aomori Bay Bridge serves as a symbol of Aomori City and is a spectacular viewpoint offering panoramic city views. From the bridge, you can enjoy magnificent scenery, including Aomori's cityscape, the Tsugaru Strait, and the Hakkoda Mountains. At night, the illumination transforms the bridge into a magical scene.
