Otaru Kihin-kan is a tourist facility in Shukutsu, Otaru City, Hokkaido, centered around the former Aoyama Villa, a "Nishin Goten" (herring mansion) built during the Meiji period. Known as a "Northern Art Mansion," the former Aoyama Villa, built with the prestige of a herring fishing magnate and the dreams of a seventeen-year-old girl, is a registered tangible cultural property of Japan. The magnificent building features extensive exhibits that offer a glimpse into the lives of people of that era. The mansion displays period household goods and photographs, allowing visitors to imagine daily life at the time.
