Experience the intense heat of hot spring water battles against the freezing dawn at the legendary Kawarayu Onsen Yukake Matsuri!The Kawarayu Onsen Yukake Matsuri is a traditional ritual held every year in the early morning of January 20th (the day of Daikan, or Great Cold) at Kawarayu Onsen in Gunma Prefecture.

- Prepare for Extreme Cold: The event is held in sub-zero temperatures. Bring a heavy coat and heat packs.
- Stay Dry: Since hot water may splash, a raincoat or waterproof cover will make your viewing much more comfortable.
- Stay Nearby: Due to the early start time, public transport is difficult. We recommend booking accommodation near Kawarayu Onsen to walk to the venue.
- Arrive Early: To get a good view, aim to arrive at the site before 5:00 AM.
