Tendo City has long been famous for the production of Shogi pieces. The entire town is steeped in Shogi culture, with even giant Shogi piece sculptures decorating the streets. Ningen Shogi has become a staple event reflecting this local identity. Shogi is Japan's representative traditional board game, and by translating the high-level strategies of professional players into theatrical human movements, the event achieves a perfect balance of cultural depth and entertainment.
