It is a perfect spot to learn about the intricate processes of Japanese wine and the environment that nurtely it.
Founded in September 1990 as an affiliate of South Kyushu Coca-Cola Bottling, the winery was established with the goal of producing and selling local wines using Yamagata-grown grapes. This mission has created a deep bond between the winery and the local agricultural community. Through years of dedicated craftsmanship, the winery has earned numerous prestigious accolades. It consistently receives five-star ratings at the "Japan Winery Awards" and has won gold medals at the "Decanter World Wine Awards," earning high acclaim both domestically in Japan and internationally.

The primary highlight of Takahata Winery is the opportunity to witness the actual production process through factory tours. At the adjacent shop, you can enjoy a sophisticated shopping experience guided by the expertise of professional sommeliers. Furthermore, at "Gozzonare Takahata," you can spend a relaxing time enjoying light meals paired with exquisite wines. These features make the facility much more than just a production site; it is a comprehensive cultural center for understanding the multifaceted world of wine.
The facility is open throughout the year, though operating hours vary by season. From April to November, the facility is open until 17:00, and from December to March, it closes at 16:30. Visiting between spring and autumn is highly recommended to experience the different stages of grape growth and the wine aging process. Please note that on weekends and public holidays, the opening time may be 9:00; it is always wise to check the schedule in advance to plan your visit.
Visitors can engage in various wine-related activities, such as observing the production process and participating in tastings.
