Ryoma-dori is a historic path located in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, connecting sites deeply associated with the legendary figure Sakamoto Ryoma. The route features a distinctive layout of stone steps and slopes that lead from the area between Shinkosho-ji and Zenrin-ji temples, through the Kameyama Shachu ruins, and up toward Kaz head Park. This street is renowned as the path once frequently traveled by Ryoma and his comrades of the Kameyama Shachu. Today, it is maintained as a "Nagasaki Historical Exploration Path," featuring Senryu (humorous poetry) signboards and various monuments and statues dedicated to Ryoma's legacy.
This area includes the site of the Kameyama Shachu, believed to be Japan's first commercial company founded by the Bakumatsu-era activist Sakamoto Ryoma. To symbolize the path Ryoma once walked, the street is named "Ryoma-dori," and local community efforts are dedicated to preserving its history. The local organization "Kameyama Shachu wo Ikasu Kai" promotes community development and maintains the area.
