Nomazaki Lighthouse (also known as Noma Lighthouse) is a medium-sized lighthouse located in Nomazaki, Mihama Town, Chita District, Aichi Prefecture. First lit in 1921 (Taisho 10), it is one of the oldest lighthouses in Aichi, boasting a rich history. Standing 18 meters tall with a base diameter of 3.8 meters, it stands majestically against the scenic backdrop of Ise Bay. The area is equipped with benches, allowing visitors to rest and soak in the refreshing sea breeze.
The lighthouse first lit its beam on March 1, 1921. Built with a reinforced concrete structure, it holds significant historical value. In 2008, the equipment underwent modernization, replacing the traditional lens with an LED light source. While the luminous intensity changed from 15,000 candelas to 590 candelas and the light reach distance adjusted from 25km to approximately 15km, this upgrade significantly improved energy efficiency and resilience against natural disasters. For decades, it has served as a vital symbol of the region, ensuring the safety of maritime routes.
