Jonanjima Seaside Park is a coastal park located in Jonanjima, Ota City, Tokyo, facing the vast Tokyo Bay. It is a premier destination for aviation enthusiasts and photographers due to its extreme proximity to the runways of Haneda Airport, offering an unparalleled view of planes taking off and landing. The park features 'Tsubasa-hama,' an artificial beach where visitors can enjoy clam digging and playing in the water, as well as a rare auto-camping site within Tokyo. It is a unique recreational area where you can simultaneously experience the power of aviation, the vastness of the sky, and the serenity of the sea.
This area was developed as part of the land reclamation projects in Tokyo Bay. The landscape and usage of the area have evolved alongside the growth of Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport). Today, it serves as a vital space where nature and urban infrastructure coexist, acting as a hub for leisure, sports, and aviation observation. The management ensures a safe environment for visitors to enjoy the dramatic sight of aircraft passing overhead.

The park offers diverse spots tailored to different interests. For aviation fans, the 'Observation Plaza' is a must-visit; you can see the approach lights for Haneda Airport's Runway B, making it an ideal spot for high-quality photography. For nature lovers, 'Tsubasa-hama' provides a fun experience with clam digging. Additionally, the park is well-equipped with facilities for active lifestyles, such as the 'Skateboard Plaza' and the 'Tsubasa Dog Run,' where you can spend time with your pets.
While enjoyable year-round, the park is especially popular with families during the seasons for clam digging and camping. For aircraft spotting, daytime offers the best visibility, but the silhouette of planes against a sunset sky is a breathtaking sight. If you use the campsite, watching the stars or the lights of passing aircraft at night is a highly recommended experience. Please note that the skateboard plaza and the beach areas are primarily for daytime use.

Jonanjima Seaside Park allows you to escape daily life through various activities. At the auto-camping site, you can enjoy camping with tents or cars, or even a day-trip BBQ, providing an outdoor experience close to the city. Skateboarders can hone their skills at the dedicated plaza, while others can simply relax by the shore watching ships pass through the bay. Note that swimming and fishing are strictly prohibited at Tsubasa-hama; please follow all local rules.
Nearby, you can find other aviation-related spots. Keihinjima Tsubasa Park is even closer to the runways, offering an even more intense experience. Additionally, Solamundo Haneda Greenery features an observation terrace where you can watch the movements at Haneda Airport. Exploring these areas will give you a deeper understanding of the charm of the Tokyo Bay waterfront.
As the park focuses on active pursuits like camping and skateboarding, we recommend wearing comfortable, casual clothing. If you plan to use the campsite, advanced reservations are mandatory. While the park itself is open-access, please note that the Skateboard Plaza and the campsite are closed on Wednesdays (or the following Thursday if Wednesday is a public holiday). The parking lot closes at 21:00, so please plan your evening accordingly. Some camping gear may be available for rent at the onsite shop.
