Located in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, Gotokuji is a prominent Sodo Zen Buddhist temple. Its most iconic feature is its reputation as the legendary birthplace of the 'Maneki-neko' (the beckoning cat). To this day, the site preserves precious historical remains related to the Ii family, including the Ii Family Gravesite, which is designated as a national historical site.

The Buddhist Hall (Butsuden) houses sacred statues dating back to 1677, representing significant artistic and historical value.
