Yoshitaka no Ozakura is a magnificent single Yamazakura cherry tree located in Inzai City, Chiba Prefecture, with an estimated age of over 400 years. Designated as a natural monument of Chiba Prefecture, its overwhelming presence has made it a cherished symbol of the local community. Standing over 10 meters tall with a maximum branch spread of 25 meters, the tree creates a spectacle during full bloom that looks like a soft pink hill rising from the ground. A key characteristic is that it blooms approximately one week later than the common Somei-yoshino, offering a unique, powerful, and beautiful sight that is only visible during this specific window.
This great cherry tree is a Yamazakura deeply rooted in local history. For many years, its vitality has been preserved through the dedicated efforts of groups like the "Association to Protect Yoshitaka no Ozakura."
