Yoshino Park is a lush urban park that serves as a beloved relaxation spot for the people of Kagoshima. In 1989, it was selected as one of the "100 Selected Urban Parks" in Japan, a testament to its exceptional landscape beauty. The park was developed through an urban planning project spanning about eight years, starting in 1964, and officially opened on May 16, 1970. It also played a significant role in regional greening culture, notably serving as the main venue for the 28th National Urban Greening Exhibition (Hanakagoshima 2011).

As the park features undulating terrain and slopes, we strongly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. Light, casual clothing is best for strolling. Please observe the following rules:

• Reservations: Prior confirmation or reservations may be necessary for using facilities like Sakura-en or the grounds.

• Trash: Please take your trash home with you. Littering in bins is prohibited.
