Zoorasia, located in Asahi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, is one of Japan's largest urban zoos. Its name is a combination of 'Zoo' and 'Eurasia,' reflecting its core theme: 'Symbiosis with Life and Harmony with Nature.'

The most distinctive feature is the faithful reproduction of the natural habitats where the animals actually live. The zoo is divided into eight zones based on global climate zones, utilizing local plants and topography to create authentic environments. Zoorasia opened in 1996 as part of a development plan related to the relocation of the zoo from Nogamiyama Park. We recommend visiting in the morning right after opening. Animals are most active during this time, and since the park is vast, visiting before the temperature rises is much more comfortable. On sunny days, the beautiful scenery makes it an ideal time for photography.
