Yaoyorozukaminogoten is a vast and magnificent cherry blossom destination located at an altitude of approximately 400m in Mima City, Tokushima Prefecture. The site is meticulously maintained throughout the year, and in spring, the sight of approximately 8,000 Yoshino cherry trees (Somei Yoshino) blooming in unison creates an overwhelming and awe-inspiring landscape. This harmonious scenery of cherry blossoms integrated with the natural environment is one of the most iconic landscapes of the region.
This area preserves a traditional Japanese landscape that exists in harmony with nature. The management of the cherry blossoms is deeply rooted in the local community, serving not just as a natural spectacle but as a significant cultural symbol. The surrounding area is also home to the 'Wakamachi Udatsu Streetscape,' where historic buildings remain, providing a rich cultural environment that allows visitors to feel the deep historical background of the region.
The most striking feature is the immense number of Yoshino cherry trees stretching before your eyes. Please note that from 2025 (Reiwa 7) onwards, general access to the inner grounds during the cherry blossom season may be restricted; please check the latest status before your visit.
The most highly recommended time to visit is from late March to early April, coinciding with the peak blooming period of the Yoshino cherry trees. During this window, you can witness the most vibrant and brilliant scenery. While the cherry blossoms look particularly striking under bright daylight, the scenery can change depending on the weather and season. However, as the availability of the inner grounds changes, it is essential to confirm the opening status prior to arrival.
