Museum of World Human Cultures - Little World is a unique open-air museum located in Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture, centered on the theme of 'Humanity and Culture.' More than just a display facility, it is a space akin to a theme park where visitors can intuitively learn about the diverse lives and cultures of various regions through architecture and artifacts. With approximately 6,000 precious ethnographic materials on display, it invites visitors to explore unknown worlds.
The most striking feature is the landscape of reconstructed houses that faithfully replicate architectural styles from around the globe. In addition to the exhibits in the main building, the vast grounds are dotted with buildings that convey the cultures of various regions. As you walk through the site, you will feel as if you are traveling through different countries and regions with every step.
The facility aims to convey the journey of 'Humanity and Culture,' showing how humans have built civilizations and utilized various tools and dwellings. The displayed materials and buildings are not mere replicas; they reflect the unique history and lifestyles of each specific region. Visitors can learn how different ethnic groups have coexisted with nature and developed unique technologies and traditions through exhibits that are remarkably close to the real thing. This fosters a deep understanding and respect for global diversity.

The highlights of Little World are divided into two main areas: the 'Main Building Exhibits' and the 'Outdoor Exhibits.' The Main Building features exhibits themed around human evolution and technological development, allowing you to see precious materials that trace the history of mankind. Meanwhile, the outdoor area reproduces landscapes from across the globe. For instance, architectural styles and living cultures from Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania are displayed alongside their reconstructed buildings. Entering these structures allows you to feel the authentic atmosphere of life in those specific lands.
Since the exploration style is based on walking through an outdoor space, you can enjoy the changing scenery of each season. The changing expressions of the buildings and the surrounding natural environment are part of the charm. For example, on clear days, the contrast between the vibrant world architecture and the blue sky is beautiful, making it perfect for photography. The museum is open from 10:00 to 16:00. Visiting during the bright daylight hours allows for a clearer observation of the fine details of the buildings and exhibits.

Beyond just viewing artifacts, the facility offers various ways to deeply engage with culture. A representative activity is the experience of wearing traditional ethnic costumes from around the world. Spending time in a reconstructed building while dressed in local attire provides a special feeling of traveling back in time. There are also gourmet corners where you can experience global food cultures, allowing you to experience different cultures through your sense of taste. The true joy of Little World is experiencing global diversity using all five senses.
Located in Inuyama, Aichi, the museum is surrounded by historical streets and other tourist spots. The Inuyama area is known for its rich cultural history. You can incorporate a visit to the museum into a larger route to learn more about Japanese tradition and history after your global journey at the museum.

As the exploration style involves walking through a vast area, we strongly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and casual clothing. Since much of the movement is outdoors, it is also important to prepare for the weather (such as bringing a parasol or rain gear). Please show respect toward the precious artifacts and buildings. Regarding payment, while credit cards may be used, please confirm the specific payment methods available on-site.
