Uchiko-za is a historic traditional theater located in the scenic Uchiko Town of Ehime Prefecture. Currently, the theater is undergoing essential preservation and repair work. During this period, a special exhibition titled "Uchiko-za Backstage" is being held, allowing visitors to explore the inner workings of the theater. This initiative provides a unique opportunity for both tourists and locals to learn about the history of the building and the preservation efforts being made to protect it.

The facility is open from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. We recommend visiting during daylight hours to easily observe the intricate details of the exhibits and the architectural features. Please note that the facility is closed during the New Year holidays (from December 29th to January 2nd), so please plan your itinerary accordingly.

Please follow all instructions provided by the staff during your visit. As preservation work is ongoing, there may be temporary road or parking restrictions in the vicinity. If you are driving, please check for any local traffic regulations in advance. Admission fees are 200 JPY for adults and 100 JPY for children (junior high school students and below) as a special price during the preservation period.
