The facility opened in August 1997 as 'Twin Ring Motegi.' Developed by Honda as a major hub alongside Suzuka Circuit, it was uniquely designed to operate both an oval and a road course simultaneously. In March 2022, the name was changed to 'Mobility Resort Motegi' to reflect its evolution into a broader leisure destination that offers more than just professional racing. While it maintains its heritage as a sacred ground for motorsports, it has expanded to become a top-tier destination for family-oriented outdoor leisure and nature-based experiences.
The resort offers diverse attractions tailored to different interests and age groups. A major highlight is the indoor net athletics area 'SUMIKA' and the tree-climbing adventure 'DOKIDOKI,' designed for physical activity.
