The Tsumagoi Panorama Line is a 36km road that circles Tsumagoi Village in the Agatsuma District of Gunma Prefecture. This route is characterized by its dramatic changes in topography and vegetation throughout the year. During the summer months, the landscape is dominated by vast, rolling cabbage fields that follow the natural contours of the land. The route is divided into sections such as the North and South routes, each offering distinct vistas and driving experiences.
Designed to navigate the unique terrain of Tsumagoi Village, this road serves as a vital link between the local agricultural landscape and the natural environment. The area is famous for its high-altitude vegetable cultivation, particularly cabbage. The shifting patterns of these fields are deeply intertwined with the local agricultural culture. Additionally, the route passes through spots with significant local history and natural beauty, such as the famous Aisai no Oka (Hill of Devoted Wife).
There are several notable points along the route. On the North Route, you will find gentle roads winding around the foothills of Mt. Asama and Mt. Shiga, offering expansive views of the green cabbage fields. The landscape changes from the lush greenery of summer to a patchwork of brown fields after harvest, and eventually to a white, snow-covered landscape in winter. At Aisai no Oka, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding topography from a high vantage point. Furthermore, the man-made Lake Baragi is located near the route, providing a tranquil lakeside atmosphere perfect for relaxation.

This area is primarily designed for motorized tourism, making it an ideal route for driving or touring by motorcycle. The North Route is particularly popular for those starting near Lake Tashiro and heading toward the majestic Mt. Asama. Near Lake Baragi, visitors can enjoy a more stationary experience, soaking in the natural surroundings and the peaceful atmosphere of the lakeside.
Near the route, Lake Baragi offers opportunities for camping and fishing. While the road connects toward the Manza Highway, please be aware that access may be restricted depending on the season or weather conditions. The route also connects to various other tourist spots within Tsumagoi Village, allowing for a comprehensive exploration of the region.
