The park is divided into four distinct areas by roads, each offering a unique experience. Whether you want to enjoy professional sports facilities, relax in the camping and BBQ areas, or observe waterbirds and wild birds in the nature observation zones, there is something for every mood and purpose.
The history of this park is deeply connected to urban defense planning before and after World War II. It began as part of a national project to secure vast green spaces to address issues of urban density, disaster prevention, and hygiene. After the war, the land underwent various uses, including agricultural use, before the park's development was completed in 1981. Today, it serves as a vital green hub for citizens. Interestingly, the park also coexists with urban infrastructure, as the depot for the Nippori-Toneri Liner railway is located beneath the park grounds.
The park features diverse zones designed to keep visitors engaged. A major highlight is the 'Waterfront Zone' centered around a large pond. The pond, naturally filled with reeds and water plants, provides a beautiful habitat for various waterbirds. The park spans the Toneri, Nishiioko, and Kofuchiya areas of Adachi. It is easily accessible via the 'Toneri Koen Station' on the Nippori-Toneri Liner. While there is a paid parking lot available for those visiting by car, we recommend using public transportation during weekends or during events, as traffic in the surrounding residential and commercial areas can become quite heavy.
