Toshi Nogyo Koen (Urban Agriculture Park) is a nature-focused park located on the super levee in Kabata, Adachi-ku, Tokyo. Since its opening in 1984, it has been a beloved educational facility for deepening understanding of plant cultivation, gardening, and agriculture. Within the park, you can experience actual fields, orchards, and greenhouses, allowing you to feel the richness of nature and the mechanics of farming while staying within the Tokyo metropolitan area. It also serves as a vital space for preserving the traditional landscapes of Tokyo's suburbs, acting as a place of relaxation for citizens and a recreational hub for families.
The park opened in 1984 and is officially positioned as a section of Kohoku Park. Leveraging its location near the mouth where the Shiba River meets the Arakawa River, the park plays a role in teaching sustainable agriculture that coexists with the natural environment. Following a renewal in 1995, the facilities were further enhanced. The park's efforts were recognized in 1996 when it received the 'Tezukuri Kyodo Award.' A significant cultural highlight is the presence of traditional folk houses relocated from within Adachi Ward, which serve as precious sites to experience the historical agricultural scenery and lifestyle of old Tokyo.

The park offers different scenery and activities depending on the season, especially during harvest times. Opening hours vary by season: from October to May, the park is open until 17:00, and from June to September, it is open until 18:00. The evening hours are particularly pleasant for cyclists looking for a peaceful break.
What sets this park apart is its 'experiential' programs. You can apply for specific programs via the official website through the 'Livepocket' online system, which handles ticket purchases, lotteries, and payments. These programs allow for a deeper learning experience in gardening and farming. Please note that some programs may require pre-payment.
To the south of the park lies the Arakawa Riverbed Green Space, a popular area for cycling and walking. It is also a known junction for the Shiba River cycling path, making it a perfect destination for those looking to escape the city bustle and refresh themselves in a natural environment.
