The building was originally constructed in 1905 (Meiji 38) as a branch of the Watanabe family, showcasing the high-level craftsmanship of the period. This traditional wooden architecture has been preserved as a vital piece of local heritage. A truly heartwarming aspect of Tokeien is its connection to the community: the facility features tourism pamphlets and QR codes for video guides created by local elementary school students.
