Takachiho Farm is a charming tourist farm located at the foot of the Kirishima Mountain range in Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture. The farm is home to various animals such as cows, horses, and sheep, offering visitors a variety of programs including animal interaction, farm tours, and hands-on experiences. Through these activities, guests can learn about the dedicated efforts of producers to deliver safe and high-quality products to our tables. One of the biggest highlights is the ability to enjoy fresh dairy products and delicious sweets produced and sold right on the premises.
Leveraging its prime location at the base of the Kirishima Mountains, the farm operates as a facility rooted in dairy farming. Since its development began in the 1980s, it has evolved into the Takachiho Farm Co., Ltd., establishing a seamless system that covers everything from production and processing to sales and tourism experiences. The farm plays a vital role in promoting dairy culture within the region and educating the public about food safety and quality.

There are many diverse spots to enjoy at Takachiho Farm. A must-visit is the "Hitsujigaoka Observatory," which offers a breathtaking view of Mount Takachiho. This spot features a famous pink door, making it a perfect location for photography with the stunning landscape as your backdrop. The scenery changes beautifully with the seasons: you can enjoy cherry blossoms in spring, a sea of yellow sunflowers in summer, and colorful cosmos fields in autumn. Additionally, the "Animal Interaction Land" allows for direct and friendly contact with cows and sheep.
The farm's appearance shifts dramatically depending on the season. In spring (around April), the landscape is adorned with cherry blossoms; in summer (July to August), vibrant sunflowers bloom; and in autumn, the cosmos flowers create a colorful scene. To capture the most beautiful views, we recommend planning your visit when these seasonal flowers are in full bloom. For the best experience, visiting during the relatively cooler morning hours is ideal, as the animals are also more active during this time.
Takachiho Farm offers unique hands-on activities that you won't find in daily life. These include animal interaction, farm tours, and various handmade experience programs.
