Sunshine 60 is a landmark skyscraper located in Ikebukuro, Toshima City, Tokyo. On its 60th floor lies the 'Tenbo Park' observation deck. This facility serves as an indoor observation deck where visitors can enjoy breathtaking, panoramic views of the Tokyo skyline. As part of the massive Sunshine City complex, the building also houses various offices, restaurants, shops, and clinics.
Completed in 1978, Sunshine 60 has long been a symbol of the Ikebukuro area. While the original rooftop 'Sky Deck' was once open to the public, it is currently closed. In 2022, the facility was revitalized and reopened under its current name, 'Sunshine 60 Observatory Tenbo Park.' It continues to serve as a beloved landmark, offering a modern way to experience the evolving cityscape of Tokyo.
The primary attraction is the spectacular view from the 60th-floor indoor observatory. From this high vantage point, you can witness the vast urban landscape of Tokyo. The facility also features the 'Tenbo Park CAFE,' where you can enjoy beverages and light snacks. Special menu items include the 'Tenbo no Oka Latte' (780 JPY) and 'Tenku Smoothie' (880 JPY). For families with infants, even specialized baby food like 'Sea Bream & Tomato Porridge' (from 630 JPY) is available. Depending on the season, you might also enjoy live street piano performances or special events designed for parents and children.
The observatory sometimes offers special hours, such as opening as early as 5:30 AM on New Year's Day. The character of the view changes beautifully depending on the season and the time of day. We recommend visiting during specific times to enjoy seasonal events, such as the street piano sessions featuring musicians from the Toshima area, or to enjoy a themed cafe experience.
At the observatory, you can immerse yourself in the vastness of the Tokyo skyline. A relaxing way to visit is to order a signature latte or smoothie at the cafe while gazing at the view. The cafe is exceptionally family-friendly, offering menu items like 'Sea Bream & Tomato Porridge' specifically for infants, making it an easy and comfortable destination for families with small children.
Sunshine 60 is part of the Sunshine City complex, which includes the 'Alpha' specialty shopping street, medical clinics, office floors, and various dining areas. There is also a large parking facility (Sunshine Parking) located in the basement.
