Sumida Aquarium is located on the 5th and 6th floors of Tokyo Skytree Town®, right at the foot of the iconic Tokyo Skytree®. As a sophisticated urban aquarium, it offers specialized programs and exhibits designed to bring visitors closer to aquatic life. You can witness the graceful movements of Green Sea Turtles, the charming antics of penguins, and the striking patterns of Sea Goldfish. The space is designed to provide a sense of tranquility, allowing you to feel the gentle movement of water and escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
Located in Tokyo's traditional 'Shitamachi' area, this facility serves as a modern leisure destination that has grown alongside the development of Tokyo Skytree®. It represents a unique fusion of traditional Japanese atmosphere and cutting-edge urban development. Within the vibrant Skytree Town® complex, the aquarium provides an immersive experience through the lens of marine life, serving as a key cultural and tourist hub for the local community and international visitors alike.

The centerpiece of the exhibits is the Green Sea Turtle, whose swimming form is truly captivating. Another major attraction is the Sea Goldfish, known for their distinctive and beautiful patterns. In the penguin area, visitors can observe their delicate movements and expressions up close. The entire exhibition space is crafted with an emphasis on water transparency and light effects, creating a relaxing and immersive environment for all ages.
Operating hours vary depending on the day of the week. From Monday to Friday, the aquarium is open from 10:00 to 20:00. On Saturdays and Sundays, the hours are extended from 09:00 to 21:00. Visiting during the weekend or holidays allows you to enjoy the extended hours, and we recommend visiting during the quieter evening hours to experience the beautiful light-up displays and the soothing movement of the water. Please note that hours may change due to seasonal adjustments, weather, or maintenance, so checking the official website in advance is recommended.

The exhibition layout is designed to let you feel the ecology of the animals up close. For example, in the penguin area, you can observe their daily behaviors and natural movements. Since the aquarium is integrated with the commercial facilities of Skytree Town®, you can easily combine your visit with shopping or dining, making for a seamless and complete Tokyo sightseeing experience.
Sumida Aquarium is adjacent to Tokyo Skytree® and the large-scale shopping mall 'Tokyo Solamachi.' This makes it a highly convenient stop after enjoying the views from the Skytree or while shopping at Solamachi. The area is easily accessible via nearby Tobu Railway stations, allowing you to experience modern entertainment while still feeling the charm of Tokyo's traditional downtown atmosphere.

The facility is fully barrier-free, with accessible entrances and restrooms for wheelchair users. While there are no specific dress codes, comfortable walking shoes are recommended for your visit. Please ensure you complete your ticket purchase and entry procedures at least one hour before the closing time.
