Suishohama Beach is a beautiful seaside destination located along the Wakasa Bay in Mihama Town, Fukui Prefecture. The name 'Suishohama' (Crystal Beach) comes from the way the fine, white sand sparkles under the sunlight, resembling scattered crystals. The sea is exceptionally clear and features a shallow seabed, making it a safe and pleasant environment for many visitors. From the early morning hours, the area is a vibrant hub for water sports enthusiasts, including windsurfing and other marine activities.
The primary attraction is the combination of crystal-clear seawater and the shimmering white sand. Because the beach faces west, it is also renowned as one of the best spots in the region to witness a spectacular sunset. Visitors can also enjoy a scenic view of the nearby Tokami Peninsula. Additionally, it is not uncommon to spot wild Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins in the area, though visitors should remain observant of their surroundings.
To enjoy a day of swimming and beach activities, please prepare swimwear, sandals, and sunscreen. Please note that camping and barbecues are strictly prohibited on the beaches within Mihama Town. For safety, swimming is only permitted during the designated hours.
