Sogi Park is a beautiful park located in the Sogi district of Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, situated at the confluence of two rivers. The area is characterized by a stunning landscape of maple, Japanese maple, and ginkgo trees, attracting many visitors during the autumn season. The sight of vibrant autumn colors reflected perfectly in the surface of the pond is known as 'Sakasa Momiji' (Inverted Autumn Leaves), a phenomenon so beautiful that the park has been selected as one of the '100 Best Autumn Foliage Spots in Japan.'
The park has been developed as a scenic spot that highlights the natural topography of the region. The harmony between the water and the trees makes it an ideal location for photography and peaceful strolls.
The best time to visit is from October to December, when the colors are at their peak. On clear autumn days, the contrast between the colors of the leaves and the reflection in the pond is most vivid. While there were times when nighttime illuminations were held, it is currently most common to enjoy the natural light of the daytime to witness the stunning contrast between the water and the foliage.
The park provides an excellent environment for walking and exploring nature. Visitors can enjoy observing seasonal plant life and practicing photography while walking around the perimeter of the pond.
