Mount Shotsuji Viewpoint is a scenic observation spot located near the summit of Mount Shotsuji (approximately 120m above sea level) in Utazu Town, Kagawa Prefecture. This facility has a very unique structure, as it is integrated with the wedding venue 'San Angelina.' From this vantage point, you can gaze down upon the massive Seto Ohashi Bridge, a monumental engineering feat crossing the Seto Inland Sea. The area is also officially recognized as one of Japan's 'Lovers' Sanctuaries,' making it a highly romantic destination known for its enchanting atmosphere.
Mount Shotsuji is a twin-peaked mountain consisting of a northern and southern peak, having watched over the local history for many years. The topography holds significant historical value, with the presence of the Sekisekijukofun (Shotsuji-yama Kofun ruins) near the summit. Additionally, the western foot of the mountain is home to Shotsuji Temple, which is related to the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, adding a touch of traditional spiritual charm to the area. Today, the mountain has developed into a key destination for enjoying the harmonious landscape of the Seto Inland Sea and the architectural beauty of the bridge.

While beautiful in any season, the 'Magic Hour'—the period just before and after sunset—is highly recommended to capture the changing colors of the sky. If you wish to enjoy the night view, it is best to visit during the facility's operating hours. Because the color of the sea and the clarity of the sky change with the seasons, you can experience a different side of the Seto Inland Sea every time you visit.
