The best time to visit Sikamaki Wetland is from early April to late April. This period coincides with the peak blooming of the Skunk Cabbage (Mizubasho) and the local festival, offering the most vibrant and lively atmosphere. By May, the vegetation grows lush and green, shifting the landscape's color palette. For the best experience, we recommend visiting during daylight hours to clearly observe the delicate colors and subtle changes in the natural environment.
The primary activity is a peaceful stroll through nature. The wetland is equipped with well-maintained wooden boardwalks, allowing you to walk closely with nature without disturbing the ecosystem. During the festival period, you can also experience local culture by purchasing regional specialties and tasting traditional dishes. It is a perfect place to spend a tranquil time breathing in the fresh seasonal air.
Famous sightseeing spots like Lake Tazawa are located near the Sikamaki Wetland area.
