Sanzen-in is a prominent temple of the Tendai sect located in the scenic Ohara area of Sakyo-ku, Kyoto. The names 'Sanzen-in' and 'Sanzen-in Monzeki' became commonly used after the relocation to Ohara. The Ojo Gokuraku-in, located within the grounds, is an Amida Hall that has existed in Ohara since the 12th century, serving as a significant architectural testament to the area's long history.
