Sannhe Castle Ruins Shiroyama Park is a National Historic Site located in Sannohe Town, Sannohe District, Aomori Prefecture. It served as the seat of power for the Nambu clan during the Sengoso (Warring States) period and has been honored as one of the "100 Historical Parks of Japan." The vast grounds preserve authentic architectural elements such as stone walls, moats, embankments, and defensive structures (masugata), allowing visitors to experience the authentic atmosphere of a feudal fortress. Surrounded by lush nature, the park offers a harmonious blend of historical exploration and seasonal natural beauty.
This site was a vital strategic stronghold for the Nambu clan. The defensive structures, including the stone walls and embankments, clearly demonstrate the military architecture of the Sengoku era. The site was officially designated as a National Historic Site on March 15, 2022. As a symbol of the region's development as a castle town, the site is carefully preserved to honor its local heritage.
