The Sankyo-son Observatory (Observation Plaza) is a scenic viewpoint located at an altitude of 433 meters in the Tonami Plain of Toyama Prefecture. This spot offers a bird's-eye view of the "Sankyo-son" (scattered hamlet) landscape, a traditional Japanese settlement pattern where houses are spread out across the plain. Recognized as a "Furusato Viewpoint" (Hometown Viewpoint) of Toyama, it provides a unique perspective on the harmony between nature and human life. Each house is surrounded by a "Kainyo"—a ring of trees or a residential forest.
