Sakuratsutsumi Park, located in Yoshimi Town, Saitama Prefecture, is a scenic destination famous for its continuous 1.8-kilometer-long cherry blossom avenue. Developed alongside the 'Furusato Walking Path,' this park offers a breathtaking landscape that blends perfectly with the surrounding natural environment. It serves as a vital hub for outdoor enthusiasts, as it sits on a popular cycling route that connects Akigase Park in Saitama City to Shinrin Park in Namegawa Town.
The park was developed as part of a local landscape preservation initiative, where cherry trees were planted in conjunction with the establishment of the 'Furusato Walking Path.' This project aimed to maintain the local natural environment while providing a space where residents and visitors alike can connect deeply with nature. The cherry blossom avenue has become a symbolic and cherished landscape for the local community.

The most striking feature is the 1.8km long cherry blossom embankment. During the spring season, the sight of pink cherry blossoms blooming above a sea of bright yellow rapeseed flowers (nanohana) creates a breathtaking, multi-colored landscape. Additionally, the well-maintained cycling course allows visitors to enjoy a smooth ride while being fully immersed in the seasonal beauty of the countryside.
The scenery changes beautifully with the seasons. The peak experience occurs from March to April during early spring, when the cherry blossoms reach full bloom alongside the rapeseed flowers. This period offers a rare and stunning color contrast between the pink petals and yellow flowers. Depending on the time of year, you might also see other seasonal flora like Red Spider Lilies (Higanbana). Since the park is open 24 hours a day, you can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere at any time, though spring mornings are particularly beautiful.
Visitors can enjoy various outdoor activities such as cycling along the established paths or leisurely walking along the Furusato Walking Path. The park is a popular destination for cyclists traveling between major parks in the region. Whether you are looking for an active workout or a peaceful stroll, the natural setting provides the perfect backdrop.
The park is strategically located on a route connecting Akigase Park (Saitama City) and Shinrin Park (Namegawa Town). This makes it an excellent waypoint or a destination for day trips involving cycling or long-distance walking through the scenic areas of Saitama.
As this is a natural environment, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and clothing suitable for light exercise. If you plan to cycle, please ensure your bicycle is in good working order. The municipal parking lot is free to use. No special reservations are required for entry. To preserve the beautiful natural scenery, please remember to take all your trash home with you and respect the local environment.
