Saigonomodashi no Matsu Park is a high-altitude park located in Matsushima Town, Miyagi Prefecture, offering a spectacular view of Matsushima Bay, which is celebrated as one of the Three Views of Japan. The name of the park is rooted in a legend involving the famous poet Saigyo Hoshi. It is said that while traveling through various provinces, Saigyo engaged in a Zen dialogue (zenmondo) with a young boy under a large pine tree in this area. Having lost the debate, Saigolo reportedly abandoned his journey to Matsushima. This historical and poetic connection gives the park its name, "Saigonomodashi no Matsu" (The Pine of Saigyo's Return).

The centerpiece of the park is the observation deck, which provides a bird's-eye view of the entire Matsushima Bay.
