Saigoji is a temple of the Ji Pure Land sect located in Higashikubo, Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. It is said to have been founded around 1332–1333 during the Shokei era of the late Kamakura period by the monk Yugyo Rokudai Ichishin. Formerly known as Saiko-ji, the temple is renowned for its Main Hall and Sanmon (Gate), which represent some of the oldest surviving architectural styles of the sect and are designated as National Important Cultural Properties.
