Saburi Midori to Hana no Fureai Koen is an experiential nature park located in Chita City, Aichi Prefecture, centered around the beautiful Saburi Pond. The park is home to approximately 6,000 plum trees, offering a spectacular way to enjoy the changing seasons. The plum blossom season in spring is the park's most iconic time, drawing many visitors to witness the blossoms. With well-maintained facilities including a 'Plum Museum' (Ume no Yakata), a cozy cafe, and a BBQ house, visitors can fully immerse themselves in outdoor recreation and dining amidst nature.
The area surrounding Saburi Pond is characterized by a rich natural environment where a culture of coexistence with nature has been deeply rooted for generations. The park plays a vital role in sharing the region's natural abundance through seasonal events aligned with the plum blooming cycles. Programs such as the plum harvesting experience allow visitors to directly engage with the local culture and feel the blessings of the earth firsthand.

The greatest attraction of the park is the sweeping view of the plum grove in spring. Seeing 6,000 plum trees in full bloom provides a powerful sense of the season's arrival. During the Plum Festival, a special nighttime illumination is held, allowing visitors to enjoy the ethereal sight of illuminated blossoms reflecting off the surface of the pond. Beyond spring, the park offers diverse charms throughout the year, such as observing seasonal plant changes and enjoying birdwatching during the winter months.
The best time to visit is from February to March, when the plum blossoms reach full bloom. During this peak season, the nighttime illumination (from 17:00 to 20:00) offers a completely different atmosphere compared to the daytime. The combination of the illuminated flowers and the quiet night air creates a truly magical and romantic setting. Additionally, from May to June, the park often hosts special events such as plum harvesting experiences.
There are various activities designed to engage all five senses. A signature experience is the plum harvesting (which requires advanced reservation), where you can pick and take home your own fresh plums. For relaxation, you can enjoy a meal at the BBQ house or take a break at the onsite cafe. Depending on the season, food trucks and kitchen cars may also be present, adding to the lively atmosphere of the park.
The park is surrounded by the lush natural landscapes of the Chita Peninsula. The scenery around Saburi Pond is ideal for leisurely strolls and photography. Nearby facilities, such as Medias Park Nanaguri, also offer multi-purpose grounds and tennis courts, making this area a great hub for outdoor recreation and sports.
We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes for exploring the park grounds. If you plan to enjoy the nighttime illuminations, please be cautious as paths may be dark and uneven. It is also advisable to bring warm clothing depending on the season, especially for evening visits. Please check official information in advance regarding the availability of dining facilities and special events.
