Ryumon Falls is a magnificent waterfall located in the outskirts of Nasukarasuyama City, Tochig Prefecture, standing approximately 20 meters high and 65 meters wide. The name itself is derived from an ancient legend of a "Great Serpent" (Orochi) that is said to dwell within the falls. Within the waterfall area, you can observe two large natural potholes known as "Ogama" (Male Basin, approx. 4m diameter) and "Megama" (Female Basin, approx. 2m diameter), showcasing the incredible sculptural beauty of nature.
One of the most striking features is the JR Kusatsu Line, which runs directly above the falls.
