Pippu Ski Resort is a breathtaking destination where you can enjoy a majestic view of the Daisetsuzan mountain range, often called the 'Roof of Hokkaido,' overlooking the vast Kamikawa Basin. True to its spirit of 'Play on the Powder in the Heart of Hokkaido,' the resort's greatest draw is the opportunity to experience world-class powder snow. As one of the largest ski areas in the Northern Hokkaido region, the resort features a wide variety of courses designed to satisfy everyone from complete beginners to seasoned professionals and expert skiers.
Located within the rich natural environment of Hokkaido, this area has long been celebrated for its pristine snow quality and stunning landscapes at the foot of the Daisetsuzan mountains. Pippu Ski Resort has been meticulously developed to allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in the essence of a Hokkaido winter. As a resort deeply rooted in the local community, it promotes the charm of Hokkaido through winter sports while living in harmony with the beautiful natural surroundings.
The most striking feature is the overwhelming panoramic view of the Daisetsuzan mountain range. The scenery visible from the slopes is as beautiful as a masterpiece painting. Additionally, with 9 diverse courses available, you can tailor your skiing experience to your specific skill level. The vast terrain ranges from gentle slopes for families to more technical runs for advanced skiers, ensuring a high level of satisfaction for all types of visitors.
The best season to visit is from late December to mid-March. January and February are particularly recommended to experience the peak of Hokkaido's famous powder snow when the conditions are most stable. For daytime skiing (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM), we recommend enjoying the wide-open vistas under the bright sunlight. Until the end of February, night skiing (4:00 PM – 8:30/9:00 PM) is also available, offering a magical experience of the mountains in the quiet of the night.
Beyond skiing and snowboarding, the resort offers various activities such as sledding, making it a great destination for families. Because the courses are well-maintained for beginners, even those trying snow sports for the first time can enjoy themselves with confidence. The sensation of gliding down the vast, wide-open slopes is a truly special experience that helps you forget the stresses of daily life.
The resort is conveniently located with good access to major cities like Asahikawa. You can reach the area via the Dohoku Bus from Asahikawa Station. Additionally, a free shuttle bus runs daily from Pippu Station, ensuring a smooth and easy journey for travelers. With many natural sightseeing spots nearby, it serves as an excellent base for exploring winter tourism in Hokkaido.
