Located in Tomigusuku City, Okinawa, "Okinawa Outlet Mall Ashibinaa" was the first outlet mall to open in the prefecture in 2002. The name "Ashibinaa" means "playground" in the Okinawan dialect, reflecting its design as a place where diverse people gather. Designed by the world-renowned architect John Blow, the facility boasts a beautiful landscape that blends Southern European architectural design with the natural environment of Okinawa. It features a wide range of categories, including fashion, accessories, and lifestyle goods.
Opening on December 14, 2002, this facility became a pioneer of modern shopping culture in Okinawa. From the design phase, elements suited to the local climate and culture were integrated, making it not just a commercial facility but a piece of architectural value. The brand lineup includes many luxury brands that were among the first to land in Japan, playing a significant role in the commercial development of Okinawa.
The facility is divided into two main areas: the 1st-floor shopping area and the 2nd-floor dining area. The 1st floor hosts 55 stores selling fashion apparel and accessories, featuring famous brands such as Adidas, Levi's, Coach, and Jimmy Choo. The "Ashibinaa Plaza" also serves as a venue for various events. The 2nd floor features a restaurant and food court with 12 dining establishments and approximately 600 seats, providing a perfect space for rest and meals.
The facility is open year-round. During bright daylight hours, you can enjoy shopping in an open, airy atmosphere that highlights the Southern European design. For efficient travel, you can use the free shuttle bus that runs every 30 minutes to iias Okinawa Toyosaki during the operating hours of 10:00 to 20:00. The quieter evening hours are also ideal for a relaxed meal at the restaurants.
Here, you can compare and select products from a wide range of brands, from global luxury names to casual labels. The presence of luxury brands, including some that made their Japanese debut here, offers a unique experience for travelers. After shopping, you can enjoy a meal at the 2nd-floor food court or restaurants while soaking in the local Okinawan atmosphere.
Nearby is "iias Okinawa Toyosaki," also operated by the Daiwa House Group, which is accessible via a free shuttle bus. Other tourist spots like the DMM Kariyusku Aquarium and Senagajima Island are also close by, allowing you to combine shopping with your sightseeing itinerary.
