Notojima is an island located in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, floating within the scenic Nao Sea. In June 2011, its unique cultural landscape, centered around traditional agriculture and fishing, was officially recognized as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System. The island is easily accessible via two iconic structures: the 1,050-meter long Notojima Bridge and the 620-meter long Twin Bridge (Naka-Noto Farm Road Bridge). Once on the island, visitors can enjoy a diverse range of recreational facilities, including the Notojima Aquarium, the Ishikawa Prefectural Notojima Glass Art Museum, various hot spring resorts, golf courses, and campsites.
Notojima has a long history of coexistence with the sea. The opening of the Notojima Bridge in 1982 significantly strengthened the connection between the island and the nearby Wakura Onsen hot spring district. Later, in 1999, the Twin Bridge was completed, further improving land access. The island is part of Nanao City following a merger in 2004. The local agricultural and fishing practices are not just livelihoods but are valued as a Global Important Agricultural Heritage, shaping the traditional scenery of the region. A notable cultural event is the 'Notojima Mukoda Fire Festival,' one of the region's most striking traditional festivals, held on the last Saturday of July.

As evening approaches, the area near the Twin Bridge offers stunning views of the islands floating in Nao Sea. On clear days, the entire silhouette of the island is visible from a distance.

Notojima is closely connected to the Nanao City area. The Wakura Onsen district lies directly across the water, easily accessible via the Notojima Bridge. The island is also geographically close to other famous Noto Peninsula spots, such as the Chirihama Nagisa Driveway.
