Since the streets consist of stone pavements and narrow alleys, we strongly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes (such as sneakers). A camera or smartphone is a must-have item for capturing the scenery. Please dress appropriately for the season.
While many shops and restaurants accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) and transit IC cards, some smaller, traditional establishments may only accept cash. We recommend carrying some Japanese Yen for such instances.
