The area has a unique history, with some of its early lift systems having roots in industrial transport. Since the early 2000s, the region has seen a significant influx of international visitors, particularly from Australia, which spurred rapid luxury real estate development. On November 30, 2021, the resort was officially renamed to its current identity, Niseko Club Grand Hirafu. Today, the area stands as a world-class destination, blending traditional Japanese hospitality with international luxury standards.
The resort boasts 22 diverse courses designed to cater to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced experts. The facility is highly convenient, featuring restaurants directly connected to the slopes, comfortable lodging, a professional front desk, and secure ski lockers. During the summer, the experience shifts to adventure-based tourism, with the availability of the summer gondola, downhill mountain biking (MTB), and electric bike rentals.
Winter (roughly November to March) is the peak season for skiing and snowboarding, offering some of the best powder snow in the world. In the summer, the resort comes alive with the summer gondola, mountain biking, and BBQ gardens. These resorts are linked via interconnected courses and shuttle bus services. There are also regular shuttle services available to and from Kutchan town, making it easy to explore the local area.
