Nigaho Kogen is a highland area located in Kaho City, Akita Prefecture, situated at an altitude of approximately 500 meters. This area, nestled at the northern foot of the majestic Mt. Chokai, is characterized by vast grasslands, various lakes, wetlands, and seasonal wildflowers. The landscape is remarkably pastoral, featuring Jersey cows grazing freely across the meadows. A unique feature of this area is the harmony between nature and modern technology, as more than 15 wind turbines stand tall against the sky, creating a distinctive scenery. The greatest attraction is the 360-degree panoramic view, which allows visitors to simultaneously gaze upon the Sea of Japan, the Oga Peninsula, the Ou mountain range, and the towering presence of Mt.
